Personal Statement:: in 2001, I was 15 years old and one event hapenned that lead me to realize what kind of a person I wanted to become. My mother was back home from a long day of work(teaching Bio at the local high school) and was about to eat her lunch that was left for her when she gets back. Before she even touched the food, a woman who lives in the neighborhood came by and said that "I have eaten in days, I am hungry and thirsty, will you be kind to help me." My mother without hesitating gave the women her lunch and stayed with no lunch that day. My sister and I were kind of schoked, wondering why didn't my mom just gave the woman some money and let her go. After that I talked to my mother and she explained why she did what she did and that exact moment made realize that I wanted to become exactly like her. Of course, not a Biology teacher, but someone who is willing to put others first. someone who is willing to sacrifice her time, food, energy in order to create some good and light in others. Someone who believes that you should always always help, no matter what or who that person is. I am not sure where life will lead me, but I know that no matter where I end up, I will always be at the service of my community, my family, and the world.
