I have found several patents that show people from the late 19th century were interested in harnessing electric energy on two wheels. Knowing this, it is a mystery to me why it has taken a full 110 years to finally manufacture an energy-efficient, everyday usable electric motorcycle. There have certainly been advances in the technology over the years, with public offerings as early as 1911 (according to Popular Mechanics).
